How these “lost” recipes were found

Missing for years, we thought that nobody had saved my grandmothers recipes which had become family favorites for generations…. until one day we found them in an old carton that we were cleaning out.

It happened a few years ago while I was rummaging through an old box of my mother’s containing “important papers”. I came across an old notebook which seemed to be in my grandmothers’ handwriting. It contained hand written recipes, including all the favorites that we had known, loved and grown up with.

We had imagined these recipes had died with her, but here they were in black and white right in front of our eyes. It even had a “table of contents” in the front page that my mom had added with the recipes and page numbers of her personal favorites.

In the past we used these recipes hundreds of times but never had anything actually written down. I immediately scanned and digitized the entire book.

I’m thrilled to actually be able to pass this heritage on to my children, grandchildren and friends.
